To open an exhibit of Frank Stella’s Had Gadya at the Dr. Bernard Heller Museum, I will present different musical renditions of the source material. I will be joined by a choir of my peers and accompanied by Joyce Rosenzweig, professor of Music and Performance at the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music. 1 West 4th Street.

Join me for a multi-media virtual presentation on Had Gadya. The Passover Seder is an inherently musical experience filled with beloved prayers and songs. Ella will discuss the research behind her graduating thesis, a historical examination of Hagaddot (Passover Seder compendiums) that expressly set out to disseminate music and survey the unique history, symbolism, and musical settings of Had Gadya.

Participate from the comfort of your home or join us at the Skirball Museum in Cincinnati, where the program will be broadcast on the large screen in the very room where the Stella prints are displayed. The program will have live and recorded components, followed by opportunities for questions and comments from the audience.

Join me for the Ageless screening of Last Flight Home (2022) at the Royal Cinema in Toronto!

The screening will be followed by a discussion about the many important & poignant themes of this beautiful film, including the subject of medically assisted death, with representatives from different faiths and communities, and the filmmaker Ondi Timoner. Johanna Schneller, entertainment journalist and the co-author of the 2022 book “The Last Doctor” will moderate the discussion with the panelists and the audience. The panelists are: Pauline Shirt, Elder, Plains Cree, Red-Tail Hawk Clan; Sister Nuala Kenny, OC, MD, FRCPS(C), Physician/Bioethicist, Emeritus Professor, Dalhousie University; Imam Abu Nolan Tarek; and myself.
